Sintered stone boasts extremely high hardness with a Mohs scale rating of 6–7, which is close to or even higher than that of quartz stone, features an ultra-dense structure with almost zero water absorption and extremely low porosity, and has a special composition as it is sintered at high temperatures from natural mineral powders rather than being resin-bonded-all these characteristics render ordinary polishing pads ineffective or even damaging, since universal or marble polishing pads will completely fail to work due to slipping, inability to grind, and excessive wear of the pads themselves, while resin-bond polishing pads cannot deliver effective cutting performance on such dense materials.

Under the same pressure, rotational speed and duration, the polished sintered stone surface fails to shed scratches quickly; coarse-grit pads cannot smooth out stone flaws rapidly, while fine-grit pads struggle to enhance glossiness. Even with repeated polishing, the result is far inferior to that of a new pad-this indicates that the diamond particles on the pad have become dull or fallen off, losing their cutting ability.


Defective Polishing Results and Critical Physical Wear
The polished sintered stone surface shows uniform foggy marks, irregular scratches or uneven gloss.
