Grit represents the coarseness or fineness of the pad. The 400-grit (yellow) pad is medium-coarse and used for initial surface leveling and scratch removal. The 800-grit (green) pad is medium-fine, used for refining surface texture and improving smoothness. The 1500-grit (blue) pad is fine and used for creating a matte or near-mirror effect on the stone.

The service life is closely related to the hardness of the stone and the intensity of use. In regular marble polishing operations, each pad can handle dozens of square meters. If polishing hard stones like granite, the service life will be shortened accordingly. It is recommended to replace the pad in a timely manner based on the wear of its surface (e.g., thinning of the diamond layer, decreased grinding effect).

Follow the principle of "from coarse to fine": first use the 400-grit pad for initial grinding to remove defects, then use the 800-grit pad to refine the texture, and finally use the 1500-grit pad to polish to the desired gloss. The grit combination can be adjusted according to the polishing requirements of different stones. For example, to achieve a high-gloss effect, pads with higher grits (e.g., 3000 grit) can be added for subsequent fine polishing.
