At present, the common materials of high-speed grinding wheel matrix are metals, such as steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy and so on. The matrix is made of aluminum, steel or bakelite, which plays the role of supporting the working layer and clamping abrasives. However, the quality of metal matrix grinding wheel is large, which increases the load of spindle, resulting in serious heating and easy wear of spindle bearing. At the same time, it also increases the power consumption of spindle, which is poor in economy and environmental protection. Therefore, how to reduce the load of spindle, reduce the empty power of grinding wheel and even grinding power is particularly important.

At present, forged aluminum alloy is widely used as matrix in China. It belongs to Al Mg Si Cu alloy system and has high strength, good plasticity and machinability. The mechanical properties (such as strength and rigidity) of forged aluminum alloy are between steel and phenolic resin, which means that its properties are closer to resin than steel. Therefore, it is more widely used in resin grinding wheel
If there are oil stains and impurities in the processing process, the collective must be cleaned with gasoline or xylene before use, and then the contact part between the substrate and the material shall be brushed with epoxy resin or liquid phenolic resin to ensure the firm combination between the abrasive tool and the substrate. Especially for the matrix without non diamond layer, the joint part has no knurling and groove, so it should be coated with adhesive.
